National standards for IT education for students and teachers at all levels are soon to be implemented in Nigeria according to Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike. These standards will address the problems that have been holding Nigeria back in the field of Information Technology, such as low bandwidth and inadequate ICT infrastructure. Wike states that these changes will “boost the much needed turn around in ICT in education and will be of immense benefit to our country”.
