One of my clients is an education non-profit doing great work with expanding the boundaries of kids’ minds. Reach the World brings the world into classrooms using technology to combine travelers from around the world with students from U.S. classrooms.
One of the side projects that came out of servicing my client Reach the World, is the development of “classroom flags” to represent specific science-based projects. Many classrooms had official Reach the World flags hanging in their classrooms. Some teachers started asking for customized flags to align with their yearlong, in-class educational programming.
The flag assignments started off with simple tangents, such as combinations of pre-existing logos for various institutions, or an interesting theme background pattern. Then the requests started challenging me to create Informative Designs that explained a topic visually. (What Illustrator would NOT want this fun gig?)
In any case, this is a selection of flags from the last two years of this design program.
